Pediatric & Young Adult Endocrinology
Some endocrine questions begin in the first days of life. What happens next is follow-up and interpretation, not a diagnosis made by a screening test.

A newborn screening result is a signal that something needs confirmation, not a diagnosis. Many results are normal on repeat testing, and some need treatment that starts quickly.
EndoWell follows the endocrine conditions above. Newborn screening also covers conditions outside endocrinology, which are followed by the appropriate specialist.
Neonatal intensive care is part of my training, so these conversations start from experience with how newborns are managed in the hospital.
The first visit is usually about confirming what is actually going on, deciding whether treatment is needed now, and setting a follow-up plan that parents understand.
EndoWell is an independent outpatient practice and is not affiliated with any hospital. Dr. Luisa’s NICU work is separate from EndoWell. EndoWell offers outpatient endocrine follow-up, including for newborns and infants, and does not provide inpatient or NICU care.
If your baby had low blood sugar, hyperinsulinism, or an abnormal endocrine result on newborn screening, we can follow up on it.

If the explanation you were given does not fit what you are seeing, a consultation can help you understand the pattern.
